Languages and Techniques for Animation - Master Course
The Master in Linguaggi e tecniche per il cinema d’animazione (Languages and techniques for animated cinema) is a project promoted in collaboration between the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma (Abaroma) and Sapienza University, whose purpose is developing students skills in the field of creative writing for animated cinema and in the 2D and 3D technique field. It’s the first interinstitutional master between Sapienza and an Arts Academy.
The Master gives the approach required by the film industry, which currently has a strong lack of adequately specialized professionals in this field. The Master offers didactics on the plurality of contemporary languages and technical innovations, compared with classical techniques, providing participants with the most effective tools to prepare for the best professional activity in the animation sector from a perspective of writing, screenwriting, direction, and from a perspective of 2D and 3D animator, illustrator, designer, set designer.
The qualification given by the master is a joined qualification between Sapienza and the l'Accademia delle Belle Arti di Roma.
The duration of the Master is one year and it is composed by three addresses:
- Composition for animation;
- 2D classical animation techniques and experimental techniques;
- 3D digital animation techniques.
All the students will make a short animation film in the Master's workshops as a final project of the course.
