New apps for Sapienza Students

Sapienza is about to launch three applications aimed at making our students' life much easier. A new AI programme, developed in collaboration with IBM, is being tested on a sample of 1,000 students

From this year, our students will be able to use, directly from their smartphones, three new Apps that will make it easier to access the University's services and improve their usability. The three apps cover a series of digital services - from student cards to educational careers - and may be implemented in the future with new opportunities.

Through this application, you will always have your student card and personal data at hand, in complete safety and privacy. Besides, you will always have access to the University's main news and events. Last but not least, users will be able to explore all the University facilities, including study rooms and classrooms, and through the virtual tour to organise their days on campus in the best possible way.

Infostud Sapienza

It is the official App dedicated to the educational career services of Sapienza students.
Via our Infostud Sapienza app, our students will be able to manage all the operations related to their university career and, for example, book exams or print certifications related to their study path.

Infostud Watson

Our University has developed - in collaboration with IBM - a version of the Infostud Sapienza App implemented by an AI module.
Thanks to this module, specially integrated and trained, based on IBM Watson Assistant and IBM Watson Text to Speech services, students will be able to write or speak directly with the conversational interface. Watson interprets the students' will and, through the application, leads them to the desired operation, which can be completed autonomously. This solution can continuously increase its own knowledge and "learn" by analysing the content of questions and discussions. Through this application, students will be able to manage all the operations related to their university career and browse through the University news.
This version of the integrated App is being tested on a sample of 1000 students in order to refine the learning techniques based on real experiences.

The three new applications are flanked by Infostud Lab, the App developed by the Computer Science department's students as a workshop activity and already present in stores for some years.
