A New Sports Season Kicks Off at Sapienza
Sapienza University has taken over the management of its Tor di Quinto sports facility to directly manage the facility and improve the organisation of all the sports opportunities that are provided to the university community.
After a careful review and evaluation of the management of the facility, which had been assigned to CUS Roma, the university board of administrators has decided not to renew the contract. All sports activities will be directly managed by Sapienza University by the beginning of the coming academic year.
Sapienza University is currently modernising the facilities and conducting safety checks on all infrastructure and equipment, as well as programming activities for the fall that will be also held in collaboration with other public institutions.
The “Tor di Quinto” sports facility extends over 100,000 square meters and provides facilities for most sports. Sapienza will also open a new, smaller facility on Via Osoppo, that will provide 5-a-side football fields and areas for other team sports.
The final aim is to promote a sports culture and provide services to allow students and the entire university community to enjoy amateur sports activities.
