Sapienza and #VIALIBERA
Sapienza participated in the #VIALIBERA initiative organised by the City of Rome on September 16, 2018.
To mark the initiative organised by the City of Rome and the European Mobility Week, the university has launched a platform dedicated to the community of Sapienza urban cyclists. All staff and students who love to pedal can register using their university credentials.

Social Biking Challenge
The University Community is invited to participate in the Sapienza Team at the Social Biking Challenge organised by the European Commission. The challenge will be held on September 16 at the beginning of the European Mobility Week that will continue for three weeks. This year, the university will join the Italian “Amici della bicicletta” Federation (FIAB). All you need to do to register for the challenge with the Sapienza Team is access the “Love to Ride” Portal or use one of the many compatible apps (Ride Report, Strava, MapMyRide, Endomondo).
To participate just cycle 10 minutes! Wherever you like! Whomever brings more friends and colleagues aboard, wins!
Sapienza Discounts for Sustainable Mobility
The University Mobility Manager promotes sustainable mobility policies, aiming to safeguard the environment and provide the university community with transport that has a minimal environmental footprint, promoting alternative means of transport.
In particular, this includes:
- Discounts for public transportation with a reimbursement up to €250 on annual transport passes based on the Welfare Plan.
- Access to Rome’s car sharing fleet with a discount on annual pass costs. In particular, during the European Mobility Week (Sept. 16-22) you can enjoy the #Mobilityweek Coupon that allows you to purchase an annual pass for just 1 euro and renew the next year at €20.
