Sapienza community outraged by the despicable attack suffered on April 25 by a Sapienza PhD student
In an Instagram post, Rector Antonella Polimeni shares the Sapienza community’s outrage at the vile attack suffered by a Sapienza PhD student, hit by shots fired from an air gun during the April 25 celebrations in Rome:
“I have reached out to Doctor Rossana Gabrieli, a PhD student at our university who was involved in the very serious incident that took place in Rome during the April 25 celebrations, to express—on my own behalf and on behalf of the entire Sapienza community—our sincere sympathy and solidarity for what she has experienced. This is an incident of the utmost seriousness, affecting a member of our academic community in a context that recalls the founding values of our Republic. It is a matter that calls for deep reflection on respect for others and must strengthen our resolve to firmly condemn all forms of violence and polarisation. Our thoughts and support are with Rossana and with all those involved.”
