Progress Tech Transfer Fund

Introducing the “Progress Tech Transfer” Fund for Sapienza Research Groups

On May 14, 2019, the Board of Administrators approved the General Framework Agreement between Sapienza University and MITO TECHNOLOGY with Resolution N. 190/19 to join a programme promoting research results.

MITO Technology is an Italian company that has been working on promoting university and public organisation research results for ten years. It has consolidated relations with the main European tech transfer players. Moreover, it is strategic advisor to the “Progress Tech Transfer” Fund and scouts for Italian research for technology and start-ups.

The “Progress Tech Transfer” Fund was launched in January with an initial endowment of 40 million euro jointly allocated by the European Investment Fund (EIF, with funds from InnovFin - EU Finance for Innovators, a financial tool developed as part of Horizon 2020) and the Italian Deposits and Loans Fund as part of the ITAtech Platform.

The Fund, which promotes technology for sustainability produced by research, even with regard to its application to innovative, productive and logistic processes in Italian industry, has an open technological connotation. It aims to invest in technology and start-ups promoting sustainability, the environment and energy macro-sectors, new materials and smart services, foodtech and agrotech, and, more in general, on technology supporting the circular economy.

The fund will provide Sapienza research groups with the financial resources necessary to kick-off proof-of-concept projects and subsequent financing rounds to promtoe scientific and technological research.

The call will expire on April 20.

To apply.
