Research and Technology Transfer Area

The Research and Technology Transfer Area, (Italian acronym ASURTT) supports scientific researh activities in Sapienza University. 

It's composed of three main offices:

The Area manages, in particular: 

  • the organization and management of the University Calls, in coordination with the related Boards: Research - Commission for Scientific Equipment and Large Excavation - Conventions, Seminars and Workshops; 
  • the diffusion of financing opportunities for national, European and international research, even with days dedicated to workshops and information; 
  • the presentation of projects financed by national Bodies and Administrations, by European and International European Bodies; 
  • scouting of project ideas, through the lo scouting, valorisation and mapping of the competencies within the University;
  • the reports and audits of national and European projects;
  • University participation in national and international Calls, and the coordination of the Calls for tender that have Sapienza as economic operator;
  • the coordination of activities related to the third mission and the promotion of public engagement, responsibility and social innovation activities;
  • the management of the University Research Catalogue (IRIS);
  • the coordination of research data collection for external evaluations (VQR, SUA RD, SUA TM) and support and processing of research data for internal evaluations;   
  • drafting, negotiation, conclusion and management of institutional agreements of general interest of the University made with institutions, organizations, companies and territorial actors;
  • consultation and support of the University Structures within negotiation and conclusion of contracts and agreements related to commissioned and collaborative research; 
  • monitoring of the research activities conducted for contracts ad Agreements for third parties;
  • the establishment, membership, monitoring and evaluation of inter-university research centers, inter-university and mixed consortia, consortium companies, clusters; 
  • management of activities that support the University Start-ups and Spinoffs; 
  • the management of activities and procedures for the protection of Intellectual Property and the filing of University patents, also through the management of databases; 
  • the management and evaluation of the University Patents portfolio; 
  • the management of licensing activities and agreements with factories for the exploitation of patents, with relative definition of the contracts of sale, license and/or agreements for exploiting research results;
  • the promotion of national and international public-private partnership actions.
