Sapienza actively participates in Mission 4, Component 2 – From Research to Business of Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The mission aims to support investment in research and development (R&D), promote innovation and the uptake of new technologies, strengthen skills, and facilitate the transition to a knowledge-based economy.

The mission's objectives include:

• strengthening research and promoting innovative models for basic and applied research through collaboration between universities, research organisations, and public and private bodies engaged in research and development (R&D);
• supporting innovation and technology transfer;
• enhancing research and innovation infrastructure, as well as the resources and skills needed to support innovation.
