Proposals may be presented for all countries included in the database of cultural agreements, which is available on the MIUR website.

Academics interested in study visits should use the application form available from the “University – International Cooperation” section of the MUR website and submit it to:

Opportunities for scientific and technological cooperation

The General Directorate for the Promotion of the Country System, through the Central Directorate for Innovation and Research, deals with the negotiation and signature of bilateral Executive Programmes/Protocols for scientific and technological cooperation. The Executive Protocols are the direct application of specific bilateral agreements for scientific and technological cooperation and are valid for many years.
The Executive Protocols specify the research areas in which bilateral cooperation between Italy and the partner country is concentrated: on the basis of these research areas a specific call for proposals is issued to select research projects that can be financed by both countries. There are two types of research projects:

Projects for the mobility of researchers

Projects of major importance

If the research project, to be submitted according to the guidelines of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), is a winner, you have the possibility to access funding provided annually by the MAECI.

The funding is advertised through calls for proposals available on the following page:

Please read carefully the calls available on the MAECI website. If you are selected and have multiple public and private partners, please pay particular attention to the call requirements listed in the “Norme Integrative” Section (Additional Regulations).

Contact the International Office if you require any further information or clarifications.
