Sustainability and accountability models are fundamental for universities to promote. Indeed, universities are part of the local system and, as such, interact with enterprise and civil society, developing new routes for didactic activities and research.
This means developing a university third mission based on the application, promotion, divulgation and transferal of knowledge, know-how and technology to contribute to the social, cultural and economic development of society.
Sapienza University pursues this objective by stimulating international projects, starting local and national development programmes with agencies and ministries and giving rise to agreements and collaborations with enterprise to bring research products to market through technology transfer. Moreover, Sapienza supports the creation of spin-offs and start-ups and opens the doors of its museum network to all citizens, involving them in cultural and scientific activities.
