On Friday, January 15, in the Aula Magna, Rectorate Building, Rectress Antonella Polimeni and Lazio Region Health Councillor Alessio D'Amato held a press conference to present the new Director-General of the Umberto I General Hospital in Rome, Fabrizio D'Alba.

During the press conference, the Rectress highlighted how "the Sapienza community and the medical faculties are fully involved in the re-launch of Umberto I, starting with the innovation of the hospital's technology sector, a priority for research, educational and assistance activities and for the care offered to citizens".

"The Umberto I is an outpost in defence of the health of the citizens living in our region; the hospital is currently engaged in the front line with an anti-Covid vaccination campaign that is proceeding at a fast pace," said the Councillor during the press conference. "The challenge now is to activate all the necessary elements for the complete refurbishment of this essential health centre".

The new Director-General stressed that "there is a desire to invest in the Umberto I General Hospital, starting with technological innovation; this is a challenge that can only be won together, by respecting the commitments made, measuring results, motivating and involving people".

Fabrizio D'Alba, who has a degree in Economics, with an Advanced Professional Course in Health Economics, was director-general of the San Camillo Hospital from 2016 and previously directed the Complex Operational, Innovation, Development, Strategic Planning and Management Control Unit of the Tor Vergata General Hospital. He succeeds Vincenzo Panella as Director of Umberto I.
