National Recovery and Resilience Plan
Sapienza actively participates in "Mission 4 - Education and Research", which aims to strengthen the conditions for the development of an intensive economy based on knowledge, competitiveness, and resilience, starting from the acknowledgment of the challenges within our education, training, and research system.
MISSION 4 COMPONENT 1 – IMPROVEMENT OF THE EDUCATION SERVICES OFFER: FROM KINDERGARTEN TO UNIVERSITIES
Aims at the implementation of the material and immaterial investments needed to reduce or overcome the structural and systemic deficiencies in every level of education.

MISSION 4 COMPONENT 2 – FROM RESEARCH TO BUSINESS/CORPORATE
Aims at supporting investments in R&D, promoting the innovation and the dissemination of technologies, and strengthening skills, fostering the transition to a knowledge-based economy. The mission's objectives include:
- strengthening research and encouraging the adoption of innovative models for basic and applied research conducted in synergy among universities, research institutions, and public or private entities engaged in R&D activities;
- supporting processes for innovation and technology transfer;
- enhancing research and innovative infrastructures, as well as the capital and skills supporting innovation.
- INVESTMENT 1.3 PARTNERSHIPS EXTENDED TO UNIVERSITIES, RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS, COMPANIES AND RESEARCH PROJECTS FUNDING
- INVESTMENT 1.4 ENHANCING RESEARCH STRUCTURES AND CREATION OF “NATIONAL SAMPLES OF R&D” ON SEVERAL KEY ENABLING TECHNOLOGIES

- INVESTMENT 3.1 REALIZATION OF AN INTEGRATED SYSTEM OF RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURES AND INNOVATION FUND
- INVESTMENT 3.3 INTRODUCTION OF GROUND-BREAKING PH.D. PROGRAMS TO MEET THE DEMANDS OF INNOVATION OF COMPANIES AND PROMOTE THE RECRUITMENT OF RESEARCHERS BY COMPANIES
NATIONAL PLAN FOR INVESTMENTS COMPLEMENTARY TO NRRP
To achieve the objectives of the NRRP, Italy approved the National Plan for Complementary Investments (PNC) through Decree-Law No. 59 of May 6, 2021, subsequently converted, with amendments, by Law No. 101 of July 1, 2021. The resources and programs of the PNC, further detailed in the related ministerial decree issued by the Ministry of Economy and Finance on July 15, 2021, are meant to integrate the initiatives of the NRRP.
