On November 18, Rector Antonella Polimeni received the Sonda d'oro Siumb 2021 award from the Italian Society of Ultrasonology in Medicine and Biology for her dedication to teaching during the COVID-19 health emergency.

The prestigious award was presented by Siumb President Vito Cantisani, before the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry Domenico Alvaro.

The Italian Society of Ultrasonology in Medicine and Biology (Siumb in Italian) is a multidisciplinary society with about 3000 members, comprising various specialists. It aims to promote studies on the application of ultrasound in medicine and biology.
