Valeria Solesin Award 2024
The Award dedicated to Valeria Solesin, the Italian researcher at the Sorbonne of Paris, who died on November 13, 2015, during the Bataclan massacre, is dedicated to the best Master's dissertations on the theme: "Female talent as a determinant factor for the development of the economy, ethics and meritocracy in our country."
The competition is inspired both by Valeria's studies, which explore the theme of the double role of women, divided between family and work and by other branches of research that show how the increase in female employment is a resource for socio-economic development.
The prize is aimed at research theses that address these issues, in particular by deepening the analysis of the labour market from a gender perspective, from a socio-economic, demographic-statistical and legal perspective. We also encourage theses that address the importance of the gender dimension applied to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), to the innovative sectors of scientific and technological research, to the digital economy and, more generally, to the presence of women in historically male-dominated sectors, both in the tertiary education system and in the various sectors of economic activity.
All those who have defended their Master's degree by July 31, 2024, in one of the following subject areas are eligible to apply:
- Economics,
