A thousand origami cranes for woman, life, freedom
On Monday, March 13, from 11 am to 5 pm, the Minerva square on the Main Campus will be hosting the "Mille gru di origami per donna, vita, libertà" initiative (A thousand origami cranes for Woman, Life, Freedom) organised by Sapienza's Iranian students, promoted by our University and supported by student reps.
Pegah Moshir Pour, a consultant activist and content creator of Iranian origin, will be present. The event is part of the activities that Sapienza promotes in favour of the peaceful resolution of disputes and crises through dialogue and cooperation between peoples and individuals.
In the first part of the morning, the symbolic meaning of paper cranes as a vehicle for peace will be explained, followed by an origami-making workshop.
During the day, the Rector, together with the students and Iranian community of Sapienza, will remember the victims of the Iranian regime's repression and vouch for Sapienza's solid support for the Iranian women and people who have been bravely demonstrating and resisting peacefully for months now.
The origami created will be exhibited in some of Sapienza's spaces in the following weeks.
