
Accademia dei Lincei welcomes a new Sapienza lecturer
The Accademia dei Lincei, the oldest scientific academy in the world, has elected Mattia Crespi as a new Corresponding Member in the field of Physical, Mathematical and Natural Sciences (Category 2, Astronomy, Geodesy, and Geophysics and Applications). Full Professor of Positioning and Geomatics at the Department of Civil, Constructional and Environmental Engineering of Sapienza University of Rome, Crespi is currently also Director of the School of Advanced Studies and Coordinator of the National Doctorate in Earth Observation.
Throughout his career, he has published over 300 articles on methodological and applied topics related to geodesy, earth observation and geospatial big data analysis, and has gained extensive experience in the international arena, both in teaching and research, for which he has received many awards.
He has also carried out outreach activities as founder and consultant of Kuaternion srl - a Sapienza start-up - and holds two patents, one of which was licensed by our University to the multinational Leica Geosystems.
Newly elected members will be presented during the 2023-2024 opening ceremony of the Lincei, which will be held on November 10.
