Bonus for Excellence: an Incentive for Hiring Young Graduates and Phd Graduates

The Budget Law 2019 introduced a new measure to facilitate the employment of graduates finishing Masters' Degrees and PhDs who have distinguished themselves in their studies.

Private employers who in 2019 hire young graduates can count on the exemption from social security contributions, with the exclusion of premiums and contributions due to INAIL, up to a maximum limit of € 8,000 for each hiring.

The benefit lasts 12 months from the hiring date, which must occurr before Dec. 31, 2019.

The measure is aimed at recruiting graduates with the following requirements:
- Masters' Degree, obtained between Jan. 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019, with grade of 110 with honours and an average of 108/110, concluded whithin its legal duration and younger than 30  in state or non-state universities legally recognized; 
- PhD, obtained between Jan. 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019 and younger than 34, in state or non-state universities legally recognized.

The exemption applies to permanent contracts, proportionally to part-time work contracts and in the case of long-term fixed-term contracts.
