"With regard to the extension of the academic year, I feel it is necessary and appropriate to provide clarification.

The extension concerns the 2025/26 academic year. In a previous communication, the academic year was incorrectly stated.

I understand the discomfort and uncertainty that incorrect information may have caused, particularly with regard to choices that have a tangible impact on study programmes. For this reason, I would like to clarify that, while other solutions were formally conceivable, they would not have been consistent with the objective of fully protecting students' careers and would have risked penalising them.

As part of the assessments carried out at academic governance level and with the Offices, the confirmed choice is therefore the one that guarantees greater solidity, continuity and protection for study programmes. Transparency and listening to the university community, particularly the student community, remain essential principles of Sapienza's actions.
