The European Molecular Biology Lab (EMBL) has appointed Prof. Irene Bozzoni from the Sapienza “Charles Darwin” Department of Biology and Biotechnology, as an official member of its Scientific Consulting Committee, starting on January 1, 2020.

The EMBL, founded in 1974, is an inter-governmental research organisation that aims to promote the development of molecular biology to make Europe a cnetre of excellence in this sector, both for European and non-European researchers.

The Scientific Consulting Committee, which is composed of eminent molecular biology researchers, meets once a year in Heidelberg (Germany) to discuss the most important and recent issues on the scientific panorama and review the literature to date.
