From September 17 to 19, the Sapienza Botanical Garden, where 300 vine shoots from every region of Italy were planted in 2018, forming the "Vigneto Italia" (Italy vineyard),  will host its first grape harvest. The event is entirely dedicated to the vineyard, grapes and wine with a rich calendar of events with workshops, moments of in-depth study and demonstrations for adults and children.

It is a symbolic harvest, as the young age of the plants means that only a limited number of bunches can be picked, but it will be a festive occasion for sharing, aimed at celebrating nature.

The programme includes "Piccole uve crescono" (Little Grapes Grow) for children and a guided wine tasting for adults

Admission is 10 euros, free for children under 11 and visitors with disabilities.

For more information please visit the event's website Vendemmiata romana all'Orto botanico (in Italian).
