Rector Antonella Polimeni expresses, on behalf of herself and the entire Sapienza community, her deepest sympathies for the passing of Ernesto Chiacchierini, distinguished scholar and Professor Emeritus of the Faculty of Economics, who passed away at the age of 87.

Full Professor of Merceologia e Tecnologia dei cicli produttivi, he was Dean of the Faculty from 1981 to 1996 and subsequently held scientific positions at prestigious research institutions.

He was a guide for generations of students and a reference figure for scholars in his field, having introduced and contributed to the development and consolidation of innovative disciplines.

His memory will remain alive in all those who had the privilege of meeting and admiring him for his high human and scientific depth.
