Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships: 13 grants for Sapienza
Sapienza has been awarded 13 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships. This is the best result ever achieved by Sapienza in the European Commission's Research Excellence Programme, the main European instrument for promoting and supporting the careers of young researchers. Thanks to a total funding of € 4,234,567.50, Sapienza will be able to recruit 13 talented researchers and fund as many research projects. The winning projects cover Social Sciences and Humanities and Chemistry subject areas and will be carried out at the departments of History, Anthropology, Religion, Arts and Performing Arts, Oral and Maxillo-Facial Sciences, Literature and Modern Cultures, Ancient World Studies, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Chemistry and at the Italian Institute of Oriental Studies. Thanks to their strong mobility component and transdisciplinarity, the projects will enable important international collaborations to be developed and consolidated. There are 9 fellowships funded under the Global Fellowships scheme, which provide for a two-year research period at a non-European institution with a one-year return to Sapienza, and 4 projects funded under the European Fellowships scheme, which are carried out entirely at Sapienza by researchers on mobility from abroad. In addition to the grants awarded, Sapienza achieved an excellent overall result. A further 27 projects, six of which are on the reserve list, will be awarded the Seal of Excellence, the mark of excellence awarded by the European Commission to particularly deserving proposals that could not be funded due to lack of funds. In order to support researchers participating in international calls, Sapienza has recently launched the Horizon Europe @ Sapienza initiative which provides information days and training activities to promote and facilitate Sapienza's participation in the European Union's Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.
