Nobel Prize ceremony for Giorgio Parisi
On December 6, 2021, Sapienza's Aula Magna hosted the Award Ceremony for the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physics to Giorgio Parisi. Due to the current pandemic, the Nobel Prizes are not awarded in Stockholm but in the prizewinners' home countries.
Several political and academic figures attended the event.
Swedish Ambassador Jan Björklund, on behalf of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, awarded the Nobel Prize medal and diploma "for the discovery of the interplay of disorder and fluctuations in physical systems from atomic to planetary scales."
Giorgio Parisi dedicated the prize to his mentor Nicola Cabibbo.
