QS World Rankings 2023: Sapienza among the best universities

Sapienza ranks among the world's top 200 universities and third nationally in the 2023 edition of the QS World University Rankings, released on June 8, 2022

The 2023 edition of the QS World University Ranking, released on June 8, 2022, places Sapienza among the top 200 universities worldwide. Our university ranks 171st worldwide and third nationally, after the Politecnico di Milano and the University of Bologna.

That confirms the excellent position already achieved in the 2022 ranking. Based on the individual indicators, the Academic Reputation parameter - Sapienza's reputation in international academic circles - has increased in the score, maintaining the 74th position worldwide.

The International Faculty index (percentage of international lecturers) and International Students index (percentage of international students) also improved.

In this edition, QS has added two new parameters, Research Network for scientific research collaborations and Employment Outcomes related to graduates' employment prospects. For these two new indicators - dealt with separately this year and integrated into the ranking from the 2024 edition - Sapienza achieves an excellent result, ranking first in Italy.

The QS World University Rankings, published annually by the Quacquarelli Symonds agency, is one of the best-known university rankings, together with the Academic Ranking of World Universities and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Reputational aspects significantly influence the score through a survey of academics and employers.
