MuSa Jazz Orchestra celebrates Duke Ellington with a concert on RadioTre
Fifty years after Duke Ellington's death in 1974, RadioTre is dedicating a special evening to the most influential, prolific and charismatic jazz musician of all time.
On Tuesday, November 12, at 8:30 PM, the prestigious prime-time programme RadioTre Suite will broadcast the MuSa Jazz Orchestra concert recorded at the Botanical Garden in Rome on June 18 as part of the Classica al Tramonto festival organised by the University Concert Institution (IUC). Under the direction of Roberto Spadoni, guitarist, arranger, conductor, teacher and populariser, pieces by Ellington and his closest collaborator Billy Strayhorn will be performed, as well as compositions dedicated to the maestro, all enriched with original arrangements. The evening will also be enriched by contributions from Francesco Fratini.
