On Wednesday, December 23, Rectress Antonella Polimeni received Tsovinar Hambardzumyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Italian Republic. The meeting aimed to discuss the prospects for developing and disseminating Armenian language and culture in the academic sphere and restart Sapienza's long tradition of studies and research in this field to better understand a country so strongly connected to Italy.

The Ambassador also signed a cooperation agreement with Giorgio Piras, Director of the Department of Ancient World Studies, to support studies on Armenian culture and teach the language in the context of the ancient world. To this end, a research grant will be awarded and financed by the Armenian government.
