The Oncology Department of the Children's Clinic of Umberto I General Hospital is the university facility that Lazio Region and Sapienza have set up to receive and treat young cancer patients from the Gaza Strip. The willingness to take care of these children, whose treatment has been interrupted due to the war in Palestine, was strongly desired and supported by the Rector of Sapienza University, Antonella Polimeni, in agreement with President of Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca, and the General Director of Umberto I General Hospital, Fabrizio d'Alba.
