Sapienza and the Prix Italia 2019
From September 23 to 28, Rome will host the 71st edition of the Prix Italia, the international competition organised by the RAI Network for quality radio, TV and web programmes, with the participation of Sapienza students. The Prix, which has been held - without interruptions - every year since 1948, represents an important international appointment for networking amongst broadcasting professionals, to focus on the quality of programmes and analyse the current media world. The award is one of the most prestigious prizes for radio and TV programmes and has now also been extended to the web.
Cultural identity in a global market is the theme of the 2019 edition. Thanks to their strong tie with the national audience, broadcasters will aim to involve increasingly wider targets with their competing programmes, reaching beyond Italy with their images and stories.
The event also includes workshops, conferences and the Young Laboratory – Ylab Educational Platform for university students with the participation of young men and women from Sapienza. Students have contributed short videos or radio programmes that will be transmitted to visitors from around the world to portray the complexity and charm of the eternal city.
The inaugural ceremony of the Prix Italia will be held on September 23 at Trajan’s Market in the heart of Rome.
