Sapienza Holds Research and Training in Mozambique - The "Charles Darwin" Department of Biology and Biotechnology has organised a free course in Molecular Entomology in Maputo
La Sapienza, in collaboration with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, the Department of Biological Sciences of the University of Sassari and the Mondlane University of Mozambique, has created a completely free course in Molecular Entomology at the Natural History Museum of Maputo dedicated to researchers, teachers and health professionals.
Simone Sabatelli, of the Charles Darwin Department of Biology and Biotechnology, together with teachers and experts from the Mozambican sector, did some theoretical and practical laboratory lessons as part of the initiative linked to training in biodiversity and biotechnology. The thirteen African participants involved acquired theoretical and practical skills in biological classification, genetic characterization and taxonomy in entomology.
"This collaboration - explains Simone Sabatelli - has allowed and allows not only the training of highly specialized professionals in the field of the study of biodiversity and biotechnology, but also a mutual exchange of scientific knowledge and culture. The research activity must always be based on sharing ".
