On Friday, 10 February, at 10 am, the Department of Physics will be hosting a day of activities for secondary school girls, including seminars and a hands-on masterclass on high-energy physics with the Atlas experiment at the LHC in Geneva.

On the same day at 10.00 am in the La Ginestra lecture hall of the Department of Chemistry, the Department of Computer, Control and Management Engineering (DIAG) and the Department of Physics, in collaboration with IBM, will organise the event entitled "International Day of Women and Girls in Science". The meeting aims to inspire more girls to be part of the world of science and technology.

On Saturday, 11 February 2023, at 9.30 am, the Geography lecture hall (Faculty of Arts and Humanities) will be hosting the seminar "Let's talk about us". The event will be the perfect opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and present the research that young female PhD students, research fellows and researchers from different fields are carrying out as part of their studies and training.

On Tuesday, 14 February, at 9.30 am, in lecture hall A of the "Stanislao Cannizzaro" Chemistry Building, the Department of Chemistry will participate in the IUPAC Global Women's Breakfast (#GWB2023), which will be held worldwide for International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
GWB aims to establish an active network of people of all genders to overcome barriers to gender equality in science; hence the theme of #GWB2023 is Breaking Barriers in Science.

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated on 11 February each year. It was established on 22 December 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly to promote full and equal access to participation in science for women and girls.
