The Industrial Leadership pillar aims to make Europe attractive for investments in research and innovation. In particular, the objective is to promote the development of European SMEs in the challenge for global competitiveness.

Industrial Leadership includes three macro-actions:

Leadership in Enabling and Industrial Technology
Promoting research and development in the following fields:

• Information and Communication Technologies
• Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials, Advanced Manufacturing and Processing, and Biotechnology
• Space

Access to Risk Finance
Providing access to risk capital for SMEs investing in research and development.

Innovation in SMEs
Funding actions to support research and innovation in European SMEs.

The Grant Office provides administrative and management competences for the following activities: 

• Pre-feasibility evaluation
• Support for drafting proposals
• Creation of partnerships
• Project management
