Art. 49 - DEGREE PROGRAMME SHORTENINGS

1.   It is possible to obtain an abbreviation of the degree programme following a degree programme change from a Sapienza University degree programme (art. 10), following a transfer from another university (art. 44), following recognition of exams after withdrawal from enrolment (art. 48), following recognition of exams after forfeiture (art. 34), following a change of academic system (art. 38), upon new enrolment in the first year of a degree programme, for those who already hold an Italian or international qualification or, as provided for by the University's Educational Regulations, for those who have completed a Master's degree or postgraduate degree programme. For the latter two cases, a maximum of 12 ECTS may be recognised.

2.    Holders of a degree obtained abroad (Art. 17) must send the application for degree programme shortening by following the procedures indicated on the dedicated page on the university website

3.    The other students must send their application to the Student Affairs Office to which their degree programme belongs.

4.    Deadline and terms for submitting the application. For those with an Italian qualification, the application with stamp duty must be sent within 15 natural and consecutive days from the date of payment of the first instalment relating to the first year of the degree, by means of a ticket addressed to your Student Affairs Office by connecting to the link tts.uniroma1.it/otrs/customer.pl and filling in the form in the Programme Shortening ("Abbreviazione di Corso") service. Before submitting your application, you must check on Infostud that your identity document has been uploaded (section "Profile>Personal documents").

5.    Study plan evaluation and change of programme year. Study plan evaluation for the purposes of credit recognition is carried out on the entire previous study plan, subject to any provisions of the educational bodies. The programme's educational unit, after the evaluation of the previous student career, will define the programme year to which one can enrol, based on the number of recognisable exams, and the Student Affairs Office will carry out the variation.

In the case of enrolment in a two-year Master's degree, neither the Bachelor's degree nor, in the case of a degree awarded under a pre-Ministerial Decree 509/99 academic system, the exams that were used to meet the entry requirements assessment be taken into account for degree programme shortenings.

6.    Variation in tuition fees. As a result of a change in the programme year decided by the educational bodies and the tuition fee group to which the new degree programme belongs, the system may produce an adjustment to the amount of tuition fees that will be applied to subsequent instalments.
