The call for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions - Doctoral Networks (MSCA-DN-2025) is open.
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions - Doctoral Networks (MSCA-DN-2025) support doctoral and doctoral research training programmes in any area and scientific disciplinary field, proposed and implemented by European partnerships comprising universities, research centres and non-academic bodies (companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, non-profit organisations, etc.).
These networks, if selected, will be able to recruit Doctoral Candidates (DCs), i.e. young researchers of any nationality who have not yet obtained a doctorate, who will obtain a fellowship and enrol in a doctoral course proposed by one of the members of the DN network. DCs will only be eligible for fellowships if they have not resided or carried out their main activity in the country of the host institution for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately preceding the closing date of the call for applications.
The financial contribution is a grant covering 100% of costs, amounting to approximately €4,500 gross per month for the researcher's salary, plus a contribution of €2,800 per month/person for research and management costs.
The deadline for submitting proposals is 17:00 Brussels time on Tuesday, November 25.
“Standard” Doctoral Networks (DN)
Standard' Doctoral Networks (DN), comprising at least 3 beneficiaries from 3 different Member or Associated Countries (of which at least one is a Member Country), offering innovative and excellent doctoral training around a joint research project. They can recruit candidates for up to 36 months.
Industrial Doctorates (DN-ID)
Industrial Doctorates (DN-ID), comprising at least 3 beneficiaries from 3 different Member or Associated Countries (of which at least one is a Member Country) and at least one institution from the non-academic sector involved as a beneficiary, offering innovative and excellent doctoral training around a joint research project. DCs must spend at least 50 per cent of their time at an institution in the non-academic sector in order to develop public- and private-sector oriented skills. They can recruit candidates for up to 36 months.
Joint Doctorates (DN-JD)
Joint Doctorates (DN-JD), composed of at least 3 beneficiaries from 3 different Member or Associated Countries (of which at least one is a Member Country), proposing an innovative and excellent doctoral training developed around a joint research programme leading to the award of a joint, double or multiple doctoral degree, recognised in at least one Member State of the Union (MS) or in a State Associated to Horizon Europe. They can recruit candidates for up to 48 months.
The International Research Planning and Management Office, Grant Office, Individual International Programmes offers support services and technical assistance to lecturers interested in submitting proposals, in particular: information services on the call for proposals, pre-feasibility assessment of the project idea, assistance in drafting the proposal, pre-screening of the proposal, support in the financial and administrative management of approved projects.
