Sapienza Quality Assurance
Since 2005, Sapienza has been implementing a Quality Assurance (QA) programme in line with its strategic plan.
The guiding principles, objectives and areas of activity are set out in the Sapienza Quality Policy document, as defined by the governing bodies.
The Sapienza Quality Assurance System document outlines the structure and architecture of the QA system, the relevant stakeholders and their respective roles and responsibilities, and how they are interconnected, in accordance with AVA3.
The approach adopted by Sapienza is the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle, a process of continuous improvement based on the principles set out in the ANVUR guidelines, which is applied at all levels of Sapienza's quality system.
The PDCA approach aims to encourage Sapienza to:
- define objectives – that is, the outcomes it wishes to achieve – as an integral part of Sapienza's policy and strategy formulation (Plan)
- plan and develop an integrated set of approaches designed to achieve the established objectives by defining structured and integrated processes to implement policies and strategies (Plan)
- implement the approaches and related processes in a systematic and integrated manner (Do)
- monitor planning and implementation (Check)
- promote improvement activities following the analysis of monitoring results to make the approaches and processes more effective (Act)
