On Tuesday, July 16, International Nelson Mandela Day, at 7 PM, the Nuovo Teatro Ateneo, as every year since 2014, will be hosting a musical tribute performend by Musica Sapienza, the MuSa Blues group directed by Giorgio Monari. In the year in which South Africa celebrates the 30th anniversary of Mandela's election as President in the country's first democratic elections, the event, sponsored by the South African Embassy, will offer an introductory moment of reflection with Mmathari Mashao, Minister Plenipotentiary of the South African Embassy in Rome, and Vincenzo Curatola, President of the anti-racist Benny Nato Centre. This will be followed by readings and music inspired by Mandela and the struggle against apartheid from South Africa and around the world, with special guests such as percussionist Ruggero Artale.
