Musa Jazz Meets Concert
On Monday, March 2, from 7 PM, the Nuovo Teatro Ateneo will be hosting the first event of the MuSa Jazz Meets series, successfully launched in 2025. The entire MuSa jazz orchestra will meet the Refice jazz ensemble of the Conservatorio di musica di Frosinone, conducted by Filiberto Palermini, whose repertoire is distinguished by a marked attention to performance and improvisation styles more closely linked to contemporary music, reflecting the most innovative and avant-garde trends in jazz today. The programme includes original compositions and arrangements by Filiberto Palermini, John Birks Dizzy Gillespie, Cristiano Celli and Kenny Wheeler, in a reworking of materials and rhythms from different musical traditions that blend into a jazz language open to all possible influences, with particular reference to the oral music of our folk heritage. MuSa Jazz will then present a new repertoire, featuring music by Astor Piazzolla, Wayne Shorter, Ennio Morricone and two new episodes of the Sapiens suite, an original and constantly evolving work by conductor Roberto Spadoni, who also arranged all the pieces.
Admission is free until all seats are taken.
