Art&Science Across Italy: colours and images of science at Palazzo delle Esposizioni
From March 22 to April 3, the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome will be hosting the exhibition "Colori e Immagini della Scienza", held in the Sala Fontana, on the ground floor of the building. Promoted by Roma Culture and the Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, and organised by the Rome branch of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) in collaboration with the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma and Sapienza University of Rome, the exhibition is one of 12 exhibitions being held in as many Italian cities as part of the 2020-2022 edition of the Art&Science Across Italy project for schools.
The project, organised by INFN in collaboration with CERN in Geneva, aims to bring girls and boys closer to the world of science using the language of art. The exhibition brings together around 70 works created by 210 students from 28 secondary schools who have been participating in the third edition of the Art&Science project since 2020.
Each work was inspired by a scientific topic, ranging from physics to geology, and was created following a series of seminars and meetings with researchers that took place last year. In the creative phase, the students were supported by professors and artists from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome who designed and set up the exhibition.
On April 4, the best works will be awarded during an event at Sapienza.
