The Association of European Operational Research Societies - EURO rewards a young Sapienza researcher

Lavinia Amorosi of the Department of Statistical Sciences has been awarded the prestigious international prize as part of the European project YoungWomen4OR, the project dedicated to young female mathematical researchers emerging in the field of operations research

Lavinia Amorosi, a researcher at the Department of Statistical Sciences, is among the 12 young mathematicians awarded by the Association of European Operational Research Societies, EURO, as part of the YoungWomen4OR project.

The prize is assigned to emerging female researchers in the field of operations research, the branch of applied mathematics in which complex decision-making problems are analysed and solved using mathematical models and advanced quantitative methods as decision support. Its aim is not only to spotlight the most innovative studies in this field but also to foster new networking and mentoring opportunities.

Lavinia Amorosi, a Sapienza graduate in Statistical and Decision Sciences, obtained her PhD in Operations Research at our University in 2018. Her field of study is combinatorial optimisation, with a particular interest in network optimisation and multi-objective programming, applying real network problems in the telecommunications, energy and transport sectors.
