Every year, during the Japanese garden's cherry blossom season, the Orto Botanico of Sapienza University offers its visitors the pleasure to stroll in the park under these exquisite trees and observe the stunning beauty of the full bloom.

Given the restrictions due to the medical emergency, thanks to the Orto Botanico's social media channels everyone can have access to its beautiful Japanese garden. By sharing daily pictures and in-depth information about the cherry blossom season on its Facebook and Instagram pages, the Botanical Garden allows its guests to live the spring at home. The little ones can enjoy the experience through a special video called “Globo and the Hanami”.

In Japan, the cherry blossom viewing is a well-established tradition called Hanami: Hana=flower Mi= viewing. Japenese gardens are peaceful and calming spaces perfectly blent with the surrounding environment. At its heart, there is a receptive and interactive attitude towards the natural world that leads to harmonious solutions based on the principle of asymmetry. The main element is the water that flows along artificial canals and creates two little lakes.
