CIVIS call for proposals for new educational activities
New opportunities for researchers and lecturers from CIVIS partner universities who want to develop new collaborations and create new educational activities. CIVIS Europe’s Civic University Alliance is actively seeking innovative educational proposals that align with their commitment to interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, and civically engaged education across their network. This call seeks to support proposals that showcase co-creation, challenge-based learning, innovation, civic engagement, and societal connectivity.
The call includes two levels of educational activities:
- Development of NEW Joint Bachelor’s degrees that are inter/ transdisciplinary and that takes into account the current European process towards establishing a framework for a European Degree. This level involves both newly developed bachelor offerings to foster broader participation and innovative delivery and redevelopment of an existing bachelor and forming a new consortium.
- Online Single Learning Activities (SLAs)
All academics from European universities belonging to CIVIS, including also strategic partner universities in Africa, may participate, but the contact person for the proposal, who will coordinate the application, should be a member of a European university, together with colleagues from at least three universities.
Proposals should:
- include at least 3 CIVIS universities and, in addition, ideally also include participation of African partner institutions;
- link with CIVIS European Project objectives;
- include letters of commitment from the involved universities, including the Department, Faculty, and/ or CIVIS Vice Rector;
- present a detailed planning and implementation phase, supported by the CIVIS coordination teams;
- ensure transparency and coherence, by accurately estimating ECTS credit points and/ or number of hours.
The proposal will be assessed on set of quality criteria built on CIVIS Alliance objectives:
- involvement of external stakeholders;
- African Dimension;
- teaching and learning;
- cross-disciplinary approach;
- inclusion/ accessibility.
It will be possible to contact the CIVIS institutional contact person within our university to discuss the initiative to be proposed before presenting it.
An information session will be organised in September to provide details on the call and its objectives to all potential applicants and to answer questions and doubts. While waiting to find out the date when the session will be held, you can already register at the link provided to be informed about the next steps.
Deadline for submitting proposals: October 20, 2024.
