Dtc Lazio official partner of the New European Bauhaus
The European Commission selected Dtc Lazio as a partner in the New European Bauhaus, the EU project that aims to combine the fight against climate change with design and art. Dtc Lazio, a centre of excellence coordinated by Sapienza University of Rome, was selected among the many applications submitted to be part of the new European initiative.
The New European Bauhaus is a creative and interdisciplinary project that brings together architects, artists, students, scientists, engineers, designers and anyone wishing to get the European Green Deal closer to citizens by placing recycling, renewable energy and biodiversity at the centre of everyday life. Like the historic Bauhaus movement that spread worldwide from Weimar, the new European Bauhaus is imagined to be more than just a school of architecture using new technologies and techniques, demonstrating that beauty, style and sustainability go hand in hand.
Dtc Lazio is a centre for the aggregation and integration of technical skills applicable to the conservation, enhancement and promotion of Lazio's historical, artistic and cultural heritage, set up with the support of the Lazio Region, Ministry of Education, University and Research, and Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism. Lazio's public universities also participate, coordinated by Sapienza.
On June 30, 2021, Dtc took part in the first public event organised by the European Parliament for the New Bauhaus. Sabrina Sarto, Deputy Rector for Research, explained how Dtc's activities enhance and promote Lazio's cultural heritage through technological innovation. Massimiliano Smeriglio, MEP, presented the Dtc Lazio project.
