EtnoMusa at the Festival International de la Musique Universitaire of Belfort

The FIMU - Festival international de la Musique universitaire (FIMU), the most important university music festival in Europe, has this year selected Sapienza's EtnoMuSa orchestra to represent Italy in the musique du monde section. The group will perform two concerts on May 17 and 18 in Belfort

The EtnoMusa orchestra will be a guest at the 37th edition of the Festival international de la Musique universitaire (FIMU), the most important university music festival in Europe, to represent Italy and Sapienza. Unique in its kind, FIMU takes place from May 16 to 19 throughout the city of Belfort, France, and hosts orchestras, soloists and musical ensembles of all genres from all over the world.
This year's theme is Italy and its music and will have as its main representative Gio Evan, multifaceted songwriter, writer and poet.

EtnoMuSa is one of the four MuSa orchestras, created in memory of the so-called subaltern cultures of ethnic and social music. The orchestra is a participatory workshop that makes use of any instrument: from accordion to frame drums, from instruments of other international cultures to classical instruments.
