
FAI Autumn Days 2023 presented at Sapienza
FAI Autumn Days, the eagerly awaited public event dedicated to the richness and variety of Italy's treasures, will take place on October 14 and 15.
The two-day programme was unveiled at a press conference hosted by Sapienza University and attended by Rector Antonella Polimeni, at the Museum of Classical Art.
This 12th edition will see 11 universities and research centres - including Sapienza - open to visitors, as well as numerous schools throughout the region. Among the university museums that will be open to visitors on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. will be:
- Museum of Classical Art, which houses a valuable and extensive collection of plaster casts of sculptures from classical Greece and the Roman era.
- Museum of Etruscan and Italic Antiquities which the exhibition '"Caere. Storie di dispersione e di recuperi" and features finds of exceptional value such as the painted terracotta slabs of Etruscan production and the large Euphronios vase with the artist's signature returned by the Metropolitan Museum.
- Museum of Origins which hosts the exhibition 'll sale: l’oro bianco della preistoria"', featuring a series of collections with finds from surface research and archaeological excavations carried out mainly in central-southern and island Italy.
- Museum of Middle East, Egypt and the Mediterranean which proposes a new exhibition of some collections showing the results obtained in the field by more than thirty archaeological missions of Sapienza University in fifteen different countries of the Near East, the Mediterranean and Africa during more than fifty years.
- Laboratory Museum of Contemporary Art hosting the exhibition "Viaggio verso la Sapienza" by the French photographer Sélène de Condat.
