Teodoro Valente was appointed president of the Italian Space Agency (ASI-Agenzia spaziale italiana) on May 29 by COMINT-Comitato per le politiche aerospaziali chaired by Minister Adolfo Urso.

Full professor of Materials Science and Technology, Teodoro Valente was director of the Department of Chemical Engineering Materials Environment and has held various institutional roles, such as President of the Instm-Consorzio Interuniversitario Nazionale per la Scienza e la Tecnologia dei Materiali and President of the Centro Nazionale di competenza Cyber 4.0. In recent months, he has directed the Istituto per i polimeri, compositi e biomateriali of the CNR-National Research Council.
