Architecture. Theories And Project
The Ph.D. pursues a series of objectives: 1. Objectives related to the disciplinary content of the Ph.D. - up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of the general themes of the Ph.D - specific study of the themes characterizing one of the two curricula in which the Doctorate is articulated: relations between theories and design - curriculum A and interior and exhibition architecture - curriculum B ); - The in-depth study of a thematic sub-articulation among those proposed in each of the curricula; - The ability to provide in-depth, original and scientifically appropriate contributions within one of the themes addressed. 2. Objectives pertinent to higher education - Perfect command of the sources and disciplinary framework; - ability to write in a scholarly context; - mastery of sources and bibliographical apparatus; - control of the aspects of method necessary to structure the issues at hand; - ability to convey the scientific results achieved through appropriate forms of communication; - ability to deepen, as part of teaching, the ways in which the topics are transmitted. 3. Objectives pertaining to method content in the field of research. - The ability to provide public and private agencies and land-government structures with appropriate responses to the issues of investigation; - The ability to conduct field investigations, analytical-constructive in nature; - The ability to draft design hypotheses. Profitable attendance at the Doctoral Program corresponds to 180 total training credits, which are divided into 60 per year that can be attributed to the following categories: - training (lectures, seminars and workshops); - the writing of the required final papers; - the meetings with the Board of Lecturers; - the teaching internship within Design Courses and Laboratories; - participation in architectural competitions, study trips, internships and conferences; and - the publication of research products in scientific volumes or journals; - the internship within research facilities. For the internship within research facilities, the Department of Architecture and Design is divided into a series of Laboratories that are natural reference areas for research The Doctoral Program is divided into seven training profiles: 1. Profile on experimentation in complex urban design. 2. Analytical and historical-critical profile on the architecture of the city. 3. Profile on architectural theory and criticism. 4. Profile on the study and experimentation of housing. 5. Profile on the study and experimentation of architecture as communication. 6. Profile on the study and experimentation of design in non-EU countries. 7. Profile addressed to the subject of interior architecture and exhibition design.
