In the last five years, Sapienza has implemented an investment policy to set up a University Infrastructure, consisting of laboratories with large and medium-sized equipment, to support research, innovation and technology transfer activities.

As part of its policy of enhancing the value of research, Sapienza promotes an annual call addressed to its professors and researchers aimed at purchasing medium and large scientific equipment for the development and strengthening of the University's high-quality research laboratories and creating the Sapienza Research Infrastructure - SRI.

On April 12, 2022, the Academic Senate, approved the funding for the Medium and Large Equipment Projects
