The office is divided into five units:

• Sapienza Calls for Proposals Unit
• Unit for Regional and National Calls for Proposals (in Italian)
• Research Product Catalogue and Evaluation Unit
• Commissioned Research and Tenders Unit (in Italian) 
• PNRR - National Recovery and Resilience Plan Unit 

The office handles the following activities in particular:

• Preparation and management of Sapienza Calls for proposals (University Research, Medium and Large Facilities, Large Excavations, Conferences, Seminars and Workshops); support to the activities of the related evaluation committees; support to faculty, researchers, fellows and doctoral students for participation in these Calls
• Support to the University Research Infrastructure (Sapienza Research Infrastructure).
• Scouting activities, analysis of calls for proposals, dissemination and support for the submission of projects funded by the Ministry of University and Research or other national and regional, public and private Administrations and Bodies, Foundations; support for the preparation and management of Sapienza applications at regional, and national level.
• Training and information activities for researchers and departmental Research referents on national and regional calls for research funding.
• Technical support to the activities of the Ethics Committee for Transdisciplinary Research (CERT).
• Management of the University Catalogue of Research Products IRIS and the Dataverse Research Data Catalog; information and training for users and catalogue managers in collaboration with the University Library System (BSS), and the departmental contact people for the IRIS Catalogue; support for the University planning and evaluation system including through the processing of data from the Catalogue and processes related to research quality assurance.
• Departments of Excellence: support for applications, support for monitoring and reporting of funding allocated by the Ministry of University and Research.
• Monitoring of activities carried out under Contracts and Agreements for third parties, through content analysis of the same and preparation of periodic reports of activities.
• Supporting facilities for participation in calls for tenders as an economic operator and for participation in calls for tenders.
• Management, monitoring and reporting activities for PNRR projects funded for Sapienza and support in managing relations with Project Partners, as well as with Spoke and Hub of reference.
