Historical Archive Unit

The Unit aims at safeguarding, protecting, enhancing and promoting the historical documentary heritage through: 

  • census, filing, reorganisation and inventorying of the documentary heritage; 
  • recovery and management of the Central Administration's material, which has become historical documentation and is therefore destined for permanent preservation;
  • creation of a computer system based on correct archival rules, designed to help lecturers, scholars and students access the documentation.
For consultation and reproduction of the Historical Archive's documents, interested parties must comply with the general provisions of Legislative Decree no. 42/2004, the Codice dei beni culturali e del paesaggio (Code of Cultural Heritage and Landscape), and the Internal Regulations (Pdf_in Italian) issued by RD no. 1175 of April 7, 2011.
All scholars must respect the norms contained in the codes of ethics for research for historical, statistical or scientific purposes. Please ask the Archive staff for details.
Consultation is from Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm, by appointment, upon completion of this form.
