The office is divided into 3 units:

• Grant Office and International Collaborative Programmes Unit
• Grant Office and International Individual Programmes Unit
• Scientific Cooperation and Networks Unit

The International Research Planning and Management Office provides support for Sapienza's participation in EU and international research and cooperation programs through the following activities:

• organisation of information and training services on research and cooperation programs and related calls for proposals
• support for the presentation of project proposals
• project management support and technical assistance in case of financial audit of the Managing Authority
• management of the University calls for proposals to promote Sapienza's participation in the Horizon Europe program (SapiExcellence Program, Horizon Europe Collaborative Projects Coordination Call, Horizon Europe Award Call)
• coordination and promotion of actions planned by Sapienza and the Ministries to encourage Sapienza's participation in the Horizon Europe Programme
• support for the conclusion of international agreements aimed at carrying out the research activity within the framework of European and international collaborative projects (grant agreement, partnership, consortium, nondisclosure agreements, etc.)
• registration and updating of data on Portals for participation in European and international projects
• support to the coordination and monitoring activities of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers - HRS4R
• promotion of international partnerships aimed at the implementation of development cooperation projects on funding from public and private, national and international institutions and related technical assistance
• management financing of development cooperation projects on Sapienza funds
• promotion and support for joining networks and partnerships with international organizations
• management of the funding of visiting professors and support for reception procedures (Visiting Professor Call).
