In the case of enrolment in the first year of a two-year master's degree, in addition to the above-mentioned requirements, it is necessary to have graduated in the academic year immediately preceding the application with a grade of 110 out of 110 or 110 cum laude.

The Student Affairs Office carries out checks to confirm or cancel the allocation of the benefit.

3.    Eligible and non-eligible ECTS.

The credits (ECTS) below are considered eligible:

  • the credits foreseen in the Programme Regulations, which instead of a grade in thirtieths are evaluated with "qualified/not qualified";
  • ECTS obtained as recognition of exams taken abroad as part of mobility programmes.

Qualifying exams and exams must be recorded in the Infostud system.

Qualifying exams and/or partial exams which - in some degree programmes - are non-registered in-progress exams that count towards the passing of an exam, but are not recorded on the information system, cannot be considered valid.

The following credits are also not valid for the purposes of calculating study merit:

-      the ECTS obtained by taking extracurricular exams pursuant to Art. 6 of Royal Decree No. 1269/38 (Art. 42);

  • ECTS obtained by taking single courses (Art. 41);
  • ECTS obtained as exam recognition for programme shortenings (Art. 49).

4.    For those graduating from other Italian universities. Those who graduate from other Italian universities and enrol in the first year of a two-year master's degree may obtain the ‘meritorious student’ benefit, provided that the requirements set forth in paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of this article have been met at the university of origin. The request for the facility must be submitted by the due date of the first instalment - which must be paid in full - to the relevant Student Affairs Office, thorugh a self-certification on plain paper regarding the studies completed, indicating in particular that the requirements have been met. Such students may not enter their meritorious status independently on Infostud. Following verification of the requirements, adjustments will be made on subsequent instalments. To submit your request, you can use the “Application” (Domanda) form available on the Sapienza website, on the Student forms page, without applying a revenue stamp.

Those graduating from other Italian universities and enrolling in a master's degree programme at Sapienza University can apply for scholarships under the "Wanted the best" call for applications if they meet the requirements.
